Young women are among the largest group to have breast augmentation surgery performed. Most of those young women will later in life find out that they have a little one on the way. Many women who have had implants worry how it will affect their child and their breasts. Having implants during pregnancy does not have any known adverse health affects on the woman or the child. Most women who have breast implants will even be able to breast feed their little one without any complications.
A woman’s breasts will swell in size during a normal pregnancy. With or without breast implants a woman’s breasts will lose some elasticity after the bundle of joy is born. The older the woman is the higher chances are that the skin will not rebound back into place. If a woman has larger implants or low placed implants they may have more of an issue with sagging also.
In some cases women with implants have partners who comment that their breasts have a more real feeling to them as well as a more real look. Since every woman is different there is no real way to tell before hand what pregnancy will do to their breasts.
One option to fix any sagging that occurs after a pregnancy is to have a breast lift done by a cosmetic surgeon. A breast lift will raise the breasts back up to where they are suppose to be and will firm them back up as well. The breast lift surgery is done with the removal of excess, sagging skin. A woman can also opt to have the breast implant enlarged or decreased at the same time they undergo the breast lift.
If a woman that has breast implants chooses to breast feed their child they should get the implants checked out before hand. There is always a risk of one of the implants rupturing and no one wants a baby to ingest that.
